Hazelnut-Pili Nut Chocolate Crunch

Looking for a refreshing replacement for chocolate that still gives your mouth that happy, rich, creamy, satisfying feel? Pricey, yes, and I only had a 6-ounce bag to play with, but pili nuts are the balm!!! Oh the things I would create if I had a few pounds of these!! When mixed in a food processor or blender, the consistency is a silky smooth, ultra-creamy gift from heaven! While they are expensive...every now and then, it's fun to treat yourself to a bit of sheer healthy decadence.  Read more about the health benefits of pili nuts here.

Hazelnut - Pili Nut Chocolate Crunch

 Ingredients:
6 ounces pili nuts, soaked over night, and dehydrated (remove skins, optional)
1/2 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup (grade B)

  3. I was inspired to take this recipe, use what I had at home, and see what I came up with. I had a great "goddess" mold, and used that. I posted it on Facebook, but don't know how to link it here. I used pili nut butter, cacao, hazelnut cloud, Jem coconut cardamom almond butter, vanilla, sesame seeds, raisins, and sea salt.

  4. Hanounaa, the purpose of this recipe was to use pili nuts because they are soooo creamy. Of course you can sub out any ingredient, but you won't get the same consistency. I suppose you could use cacao butter or a mix of cacao butter and cashews. You'd have to experiment..but it certainly would not be the same consistency as this. This was just a fun experiment for someone who has pili nuts and wants something else to do with them.
