This pate is reminiscent of tuna or chicken salad, but so much better. Loaded with omega 3's, walnuts are considered the ultimate "brain food." Walnuts can also triple meletonin levels in the body, so if you have trouble sleeping, you might want to give walnuts a try in the evening. Try making pesto with walnuts and herbs instead of pine nuts.
Walnut Pate
1 1/2 cup soaked walnuts
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 cup onion
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1 Tbsp lemon, juice
fresh parsley, chopped
Add small bits of water as needed to blend
1 Tbsp kelp powder or dulse flakes (optional)
1/8 teaspoon sea salt, to taste
Process nuts in food processor, until well ground. Add remaining ingredients and process until creamy.
