Chocolate Peanutbutter(less) Smoothie

Sometimes you feel like a nut...sometimes you don't. Enhancing this recipe with a drop or two of my favorite Medicine Flower flavor extracts, makes all the difference in the world. Create a "peanut" smoothie without the nuts!!! When I'm in the mood for something different, I'm just so grateful for the amazing concentrated flavors created by Medicine Flower.

Chocolate Peanutbutter(less) Smoothie
1 Young Thai Coconut, water and meat (you can use a nut milk base if you prefer)
5-6 large kale leaves (or equivalent your fav greens)
2 frozen bananas
3 Tablespoons **cacao powder
1 1/2 Tablespoons hemp seed
1 1/2 Tablespoons chia seed
2 Medjool dates, pitted and chopped
2 drops *Medicine Flower Dark Chocolate Extract
2 drops Medicine Flower Peanut Extract
Water as needed
ice cubes

Directions:
Blend coconut water and meat.
Add greens and frozen bananas.
Blend in cacao powder, seeds and dates and add extract flavors (or add your favorite extracts)

  1. I adore your first sentence! Just so true.

I also adore the way that MF extracts can be so intense in flavor, you can basically make a meal out of something with hardly any calories taste satisfying and flavorful.

I can't do bananas right now, and don't have access to young cocos here (although I can buy frozen young coco meat, but it does have some added sugar I'm not a fan of)--so I'd use irish moss gel instead of the bananas.

I'm going to have to get me some peanut extract--I'm love-hate with peanuts anyway: sometimes I love their taste, but I generally find them so "dry"--even in smoothies they sometimes strike me that way. I never eat them except in smoothies, and almost never then, but I could imagine getting really into pb-flavored smoothies with none of the attendant peanut texture.

    love
    Ela
