These are SERIOUSLY decadent brownies. Yes, there are easier recipes you can quickly throw together to make brownies, however, if you are a true brownie LOVER, these are worth the effort. I've included links to some of the ingredients you may not have. Try these rich, chocolaty, melt-in-your-mouth treats and let us know what you think.
The Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Brownie
13 medjool dates, pitted and chopped
1/2 cup sunflower seeds, soaked 2 hours
1 1/2 cups walnuts (soaked 6 - 8 hours)
1/2 cup almonds (soaked overnight)
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/3 cup (+3 Tbsp) cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 to 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave, per your taste
1 tsp mesquite powder (optional)
1/4 cup cacao butter, grated
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1/4 cup cacao paste, grated
1 tsp vanilla (or 4 drops *Medicine Flower Vanilla Extract)
1/4 cup water (as needed to blend)
1/4 cup goji berries - soaked (optional)
1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
In food processor, mix walnuts, almonds, dates and sunflower seeds. Add cacao powder, mesquite, hemp seeds, sweetener, and process until well blended.
Melt cacao butter, coconut oil and cacao paste using two bowls. Place hoter in small metal bowl and grated ingredients on top in a larger metal bowl. Add melted ingredients, drained goji berries, extract and process until everything sticks together. Add water, as needed to blend. You may have to mix by hand or with spatula.
Add chopped walnuts, shredded coconut and raisins to this mixture.Spread mixture onto a non-stick dehydrator tray and form with hands into a rectangle about 1/2 - 3/4" thick. (Or form individual brownie squares).
Dehydrate at 125 degrees for 1 hour. Adjust dehydrator to 110 degrees for 2 hours and then flip brownies onto mesh tray. Using a dull-edged knife, cut into brownie squares. Continue to dehydrate for 6 hours or until done. Will be dry on outside and very chewy inside.
Serve warm out of dehydrator or with a scoop raw ice cream, and top with your favorite chocolate fudge sauce and shredded coconut. Store unused brownies in freezer.

Oh my ... that's a really complicated recipe but they certainly do look good. I have many of the ingredients and am definitely tempted to have a go at a version of these ...
It's really not complicated at all. Just follow the directions one step at a time. Shaving the cacao butter and cacao paste and putting them over hot water to melt is not difficult, just takes a bit of time and patience. Cacao butter and cacao paste add a richness to the brownies that you will not get otherwise.
Let me know if you try them Antony!
Yum! We've added cacao butter to recipes before and it takes it to a whole new level.
EXACTLY Bitt!! Cacao butter and cacao paste add a richness and texture that coconut oil alone cannot offer.
I just made a fudge brownie sundae with some raw chocolate banana ice cream I had in the freezer. .YUM
I made these brownies this afternoon and they are LOVELY and DELICIOUS! I have finally found THE raw food brownie that is a keeper. Thanks so much for sharing. Always look forward to your recipes.
Thank you so much "Anonymous." It's always so nice to hear when someone tries one of my recipes and reports back. I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe and it worked well for you. I keep mine in the freezer and eat them right out of there, without even defrosting..YUMMMMMMMM!!!
Hey, a year late, but wanted you to know this recipe is exceptional! Have made these countless times, but instead of making bars, I now use a cookie baller and one recipe produces about 60 one inch circles that are so fragrant as they "bake" in the excalibur. As runners, these are our go-to power bar. main variation I have done is to add pulp from our almond- hemp milk to up the protein "power". with the exception of die-hard SAD foodists, these are always a fave!
Thanks so much Country Sprout..I'm so glad you enjoy this recipe. I've tried many brownie recipes..and find these quite decadent..in a good way...i've also used the fruit baller to make them..it works quite well. Thanks for taking the time to comment..feedback is always appreciated. Blessings!
